The use of drugs continues to be a significant problem in the entertainment industry, as evidenced by the recent arrest of Bollywood actress Chrisann Pereira in the United Arab Emirates. Airport authorities in Sharjah caught Pereira with drugs, resulting in her confinement in the Sharjah Central Jail.
Pereira, who appeared in films such as Batla House (2019), Sadak 2 (2020), and Thinkistan (2019), is currently facing charges related to drug possession.
In response to her arrest, Pereira’s family has spoken out, claiming that their daughter is innocent and has been unfairly targeted as part of a larger drug ring. Her brother, Kevin, has stated that the family has suffered “emotional torture” in the wake of Pereira’s incarceration.
